Tart Optical FDR Blackwood 44-24

This is the famous FDR frame from Tart Optical. Tart Optical frames are the hottest company in the vintage market today. Celebrities have been wearing this model for years, from Gene Hackman in Enemy Of The State, to Larry "Bud" Melman from the Letterman show, and most recently Lady Gaga. This frame features the famous 3 dot design on the front and temples and thick skull type temples. They don't build them like this anymore, with heavy duty hinges holding the temples to the front.
 
This piece was truly a rare find. What makes this so rare is Tart had made the FDR in Blackwood only very early on. Even though they continued to make the FDR for years, they stopped making it in the all Blackwood color. As is typical of older Tart models there are no stamps on the temples. It comes in the black and white sleeve, used before the blue and white sleeves. What makes this piece even cooler is the date it was made is stamped on the sleeve itself. Again, only done on earlier bags. The date on this one is 10/70. This piece was remarkably preserved and has excellent luster. Do not miss out on this one!
